What is Statzpack?
Statzpack is an easy to use, low cost, team sport stats collection and management service.
Right now we have two versions one for Soccer (or Football .. just depends where you are in the world) and one for Gaelic Sports (Football, Hurley & Camogie).
It’s made up of two parts – a web site service called Manager, where you add your team details, and where you can see all your key team stats in an easy to understand graphical dashboard – and an Apple iPhone App that allows the simple recording of info. The Manager service is a subscription service, and the optional iPhone App – which can be used on an iPod touch or an iPhone is free of cost.
Statzpack enables your team to capture key stats, to have information at half and full time, help develop your players – and more importantly get the edge on your competitors.
Who uses Statzpack?
We have a variety of users. We have coaches who want more player specific data. Some clubs have multiple team and record stats for various grades. Coaches who want to give an extra dimension to team management. It’s for players who want to get feedback on their time on the pitch. Some of our coaches are simply stats mad. Teachers use it to aid the curriculum aspect of sport. We even have a quite a few parents involved who like to contribute to their children’s activity. It’s especially used by teams who love measurement, metrics, data.
In a nutshell how does it work?
You input your team details on to the Statzpack Manager website. You add your players, your team name, set out the campaigns you play – for example League, Cup etc and then you set up a game to record your stats against. For each Game set up you select your starting lineup, subs, location, opposition, date.
To collect stats you can enter your game stats in two ways:
- Our free Apple iPhone App. Standing pitch side, you can record the key stats whilst watching your team’s game. All the data is saved on your iPhone or iPod touch and then automatically uploaded to your very own website site where you can see all your team stats, player by player, game by game. One finger required. Batteries not included. Find it in iTunes.
- On the website. Sitting at a game you can add game stats. Likewise you can jot down your stats on paper and add them on the site whenever you have the time.
So do I have to sign up to Statzpack.com?

But what statistics does it record?
We have set up a core set of key actions for each sport. For example in Soccer, as you’d expect these core actions include goals, offsides, shots, free-kicks. In Gaelic Sports as well as scores users can record Kick-outs – won or lost, fouls, frees etc. In Rugby the core actions include tries, line-outs, scrums, penalties etc. And, you can also customise these actions to be whatever you like, and add completely new action sets.
Cards? Dismissals? Substitutions? Position changes?
Yes… yes.. yes.. and yes. All those data point can be recorded. So you can keep a running tally of who is tapping up a stack of yellow cards, and who played which games and for how long – in what position. AND every action that is recorded is time-stamped so you can see exactly when the stat occurred in the game.
Can I see how at a particular player is doing?
Yes. As every action is recorded against each player on the field, you can get a great insight of how a team member is contributing.
So do I need an iPhone or an iPod touch to use Statzpack?
No, you can enter data on the website. The iPhone App has been built for pitch-side action capture. However you can also record your stats using the old fashioned pen and paper method, and enter the information direct into the website in the comfort of your own home after the game. Statzpack offers complete flexibility in this way. It allows for people who are happy with recording stats with a clipboard and pencil, and if you are more technology savvy you can use our iPhone Application.
Does the iPhone Application work with an iPod touch?

Who can use it?
We have designed the service to be very easy to use and pretty much anyone can use it. The iPhone application is very easy to use and comes down to a very simple ‘1 – 2 - 3 touches’ to record your stats. .
What if I forget to set up a game on the Statzpack website and go to the game?
You can add games after the event at the website. You can also set up a game on the iPhone or iPod Touch record it and when it uploads to the website and you login, you can edit and check the game details.
So if I record a game on my iPod or iPhone how does it get the website?
If you record you game and you have connection to the internet – using WIFI or your operator data network – the data uploads in the background automatically. You don’t have to ‘send it’ or connect it to your PC. It all syncs up seamlessly in the background. You enter the website and the data is there on your analysis dashboard ready.
Who can see my team information?
You and only you. No other team, person or organisation can see your team’s stats. It’s 100% confidential.
Is the data secure?
Absolutely. We store all your information on secure hosted servers that are certified to the highest standard and are super available.
We don’t have any network or WIFI coverage when I go to the game?
No problem. You can ‘download your game’ prior to going to the game. The game data is stored on the device so you can still record your stats, and it will upload when you next have a data connect.
In fact you can set up games on your iPod touch or iPhone offline or online, record them offline or online, and see past match history offline or online.
Why is it a subscription service?
So you don’t have a big outlay up front and if you decide to leave us (and we hope you never have to part) you can – you just have to give us one month notice.
We also have plans to continually update the service as we go along both at the website and the iPhone Application. Input and ideas from our users is very important to us, and we take on board all the feedback we get from our customers.
Will there be changes to the iPhone App?.. and how do I download it?
Yes, we plan to tweak and update our iPhone applications over time. Updates will be provided free and you will get these via iTunes. They are easy to download – just a couple of clicks - and all updates tried and tested by us and Apple before you get to use them.
So what special software do I need on my PC?
None. Just a regular PC or laptop with web access. You can use a variety of browsers including Microsoft IE7 and above, or Firefox, Safari or Chrome are just fine – all are free to use. What if I make a mistake when recording the stats?
You log into Statzpack and edit your game details. You can edit actions, delete actions and even add new ones. Which is handy if you can’t follow all the action, get involved in a conversation, have twins in your team or can’t see properly! And we are all human.
But we are half way through a season?
You can start using Statzpack anytime and you can add old game data into the site.
How do I buy the service?
Sign up on this website and subscribe to our service. Our iPhone Apps can be found in the iTunes store. You’re ready to go.
What if I don’t want to or can’t pay by Credit or Debit Card?
Contact us and we will arrange for you to pay by ‘cheque in the post’.
Who holds my credit card details?
Not us! We use a payment service powered by RBS that is secure and fully PCI compliant.
