Statzpack @ The AC Milan Continental Cup July 2010 - 23rd July 2010

Statzpack was proud to be a sponsor of the 2010 AC Milan Continental Cup, located at Lost Nation Sports Park in Mentor, OH.  

Statzpack first connected with the AC Milan Continental Cup in Philadelphia at the 2009 NSCAA Convention.  The AC Milan crew liked our product and we liked their goal to provide a great international tournament to teams throughout the world.  

The tournament itself was extremely impressive with over 150 soccer teams from around the world participating, including teams from India, Colombia, Puerto Rico and Canada.  

Our job at Lost Nation Sports Park was to tell people about Statzpack, and offer the teams their free Statzpack subscription for a year.  Plenty of team coaches came over to take advantage of the free offer and wanted to know how the product worked and how it could help their coaching.

 

The U11 Super Group was scouted by Milan Academy and AC Milan Youth Programs talent scouts.  AC Milan coaches also hosted a coaches clinic indoors while at the tournament.  BW Gottschee were the 2010 Champions and Brian Saramago was the golden boot winner with 14 goals during the weekend.  

Having spoken with parents and coaches about keeping stats, it became apparent that many of the teams do not keep any stats at all, minus goals and assists, which according to many are inaccurate.  I expected the younger teams to be stat-less but for the older groups, I was surprised at how many did not keep stats, and also how many seemed to be reluctant to keep stats.  

One coach in particular gave the defense "When you provide players with stats, it negatively affects their play." Really?  How?  It is hard to believe that giving players stats makes them play poorly.  On the contrary,  I am of the opinion that giving a player his or her stats can improve their knowledge of how they are playing, and afnd have positive effects on their game throughout their career.  

The AC Milan Continental Cup was an exceptionally well run tournament and coupled with the great weather, the tournament produced an amazing few days of soccer.

Number Crunching .. in Gaelic Sports | Dublin Seminar - 31st May 2010

Statzpack are supporters and organisers of an event to be held on Saturday June 19th. Gaelic Games teams have embraced the area of match statistics to gain a vital edge, and now leading performance analysts will address a Dublin seminar on how that edge might be achieved.
Outcomes for Coaches
How to get your stats collected (pen and paper, iPod, or video) and vitally - who should collect them.  How this can be filtered back to you at half-time and post match. How you should filter that information to the team at half-time and post match. Why is collecting data important, and how do you use it to improve your players and your coaching approach.
Speakers will include;
Denise Martin
As one of the leading sports analysts in Ireland, Denise has worked with the Irish U20 Rugby team, a host of GAA teams and is currently working with the Dublin Senior hurlers.  Denise has also worked with BBC TV and is a regular contributor the Irish News sports section. She is proprietor of Enhance Sports Analysis Solutions.
Aileen Pyers
As a senior county level footballer and recent member of the winning Ulster team in the provisional title, Aileen has worked with a number leading clubs and coaches in developing and implementing the Gaelic Statzpack product across Ireland.  
Gaelic Coach
Experienced club manager, and a former Mayo and Connacht senior footballer, will talk on the relevance of statistics, focussing specifically on how the information gathered should be shared with the players at half-time to realise the best possible value for the team.

The event will be hosted by Liam Horan, well known GAA broadcaster and journalist.

AC Milan to use Statzpack at its 2010 Continental Cup - 10th March 2010

Statzpack is pleased to announce a partnership with the AC Milan Continental Cup. Statzpack will be providing its match analysis system which enables each of the 150+ teams to track game statistics during the tournament. The AC Milan Continental Cup continues to be one of the fastest growing international youth soccer tournaments in the nation, offering athletes the opportunity to play competitively against quality teams from around the globe. Now in its fifth year, the tournament has grown at a rapid pace, from 36 participating teams in its inaugural year in 2006 to over 130 in 2009. The 2010 AC Milan Continental Cup is estimating that over 160 teams (U9 – U19) from around the world will participate in the tournament scheduled from July 1-4, 2010 at Lost Nation Sports Park in Ohio. Partnership with Liverpool-Knowsley Tournament - 26th February 2010

Statzpack have partnered with the 2010 Liverpool-Knowsley International Youth Soccer Tournament to provide its match analysis system to each of the attending teams.   The tournament, now in its 15th year is a great experience to be a part of whether you are an international visiting team or a local team.  It is renowned in the soccer community to be one the highest quality youth competitions in Europe and can even boast local boy Wayne Rooney as a past participant.  As a location, Merseyside offers international teams an experience in one of the worlds soccer capitals, host to teams like Liverpool and Everton.  The tournament will be taking place from 27th July - 1st August.  Find out more about the Statzpack’s link up with this prestigious tournament here.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

New team signs up in the Irish Premier League - 23rd January 2010

Recent new signing at Statzpack is the Irish FA Premiership team Newry City FC.  Founded in 1923 Newry City have had a constant presence in the top flight of Irish football currently playing in the IFA Premiership. The club can claim some notable ex-players including the legendary Spurs and Northern Ireland international goalkeeper Pat Jennings.  Derek McEil, General Manager at the club said “With most video based technology out of reach and the need to get real time match data into their first and academy teams they opted to start using Statzpack to gather key game stats.  It’s very affordable and easy to use – plus the team at Statzpack helped with each step to get us up and going”.  We wish Newry the best of luck in their cup and league run in 2010.

iSoccerStatz App available in iTunes - 18th December 2009

Statzpack have launched their latest iTunes App - iSoccerStatz.  Designed with the input of MLS, English Premier League Analysts and UEFA qualified coaches. Record your teams stats whether you are soccer mentalist, a keen coach or a soccer mom.  At picthside you record the events as they occur with 1 - 2 screen touches. Set up your team, choose your jersey and shorts colours. Afterwards you can even upload your stats up to the web and share them with your players.
